with angela merkel and other top german officials later this morning. this is part of his whirlwind tour of europe an the middle east. his first overseas trip as secretary of state. he's set to visit nine countries in the next week and a half. a report about leaked papal documents will remain secret. only benedict and his successor will know the findings. investigators were told that he -- the pope pardoned him. italian newspapers speculate the report found corruption and a cover-up leading to the pope's resignation. the vatican denies that. >>> a baltimore teenager is waking up in prison. after opening fire inside his school on the first day of classes. 15-year-old robert gladden jr. learned his sentence yesterday. he pleaded guilty last week to the shooting. police released surveillance photos showing gladden pull out a shotgun inside the cafeteria at perry hall high school. we're hearing 911 calls like this one from a daughter who just escaped the gunfire. >> locking down the school and i can't get ahold of anyone to let them know she's safe. she was actually right next to the shooter

, six students have died this school year. maryland state attorney for prince george's county, angela brooks made an emotional plea to parents to stop the violence. >> we need our community to come together to ensure that we're not just reacting. something greater has to be done. we need our parents to wrap their arms around their children to teach them the proper values. go to school, work hard and then buy tennis shoes. we don't kill individuals for tennis shoes. >> prince george's county police will work with community partners and different agencies to try to find a solution to stop the violence. >>> new this morning, a man police say was high on pcp is in jail for gunning down a man who was trying to pump gas. the shots rang out just before 11:00 on branch avenue in hillcrest heights. police say the gunman started chasing the victim at a gas station and both ran across branch avenue where the victim bass shot. police tased the suspect but it had no effect. it's not clear if the shooter knew the victim or if there was any other motive. this morning, we're awaiting word from the wh
